Mikroskopisk kolitt: Prognose

Tilstanden går vanligvis spontant tilbake, selv om du kan være svært plaget. Forløpet er variabelt med skiftende bedring og forverring hos 30 til 60%, som ved ulcerøs kolitt og Crohns sykdom. Prognosen er god for de aller fleste. Det er ingen økning i kreftrisiko eller dødelighet sammenlignet med den generelle befolkningen.
