Det synes å være klar sammenheng mellom HIV/AIDS og stress. Andre tilstander der bevisene for sammenheng er økende, er hos pasienter med øvre luftveisinfeksjoner, astma, herpesinfeksjoner, autoimmune sykdommer og sårtilheling16.
