Urinlekkasje, sterk trang (urge): Diagnosen
Diagnosen stilles som regel på bakgrunn av sykehistorien, som oftest er svært typisk. Ved en vanlig legeundersøkelse vil funnene som regel være normale, men i noen tilfeller kan legen finne tegn til underliggende nevrologisk sykdom.
Som ledd i utredningen er det nyttig å registrere vannlatingsmønsteret gjennom ett helt døgn - du kan bruke dette skjemaet (miksjonsliste) - og ta med listen til legeundersøkelsen.
Dersom det er usikkerhet om diagnosen, eller om behandlingen ikke hjelper, kan det enkelte ganger være aktuelt å henvise deg til en såkalt urodynamisk undersøkelse. En slik undersøkelse innebærer trykkmålinger i urinveiene som kan bekrefte diagnosen, og undersøkelsen foregår hos spesialist eller på sykehus.
