Urgeinkontinens, urinlekkasje
Urgeinkontinens er plutselig og sterk trang til vannlating som ofte fører til store urinlekkasjer. Det skyldes at man ikke klarer å avbryte den ufrivillige vannlatingen, slik at det tømmer seg en større mengde urin.

Hva er urgeinkontinens?
Defineres som plutselig og sterk trang til vannlating med påfølgende lekkasje (inkontinens).
Tilstanden overaktiv blære ligner og er karakterisert ved sterk vannlatingstrang uten samtidig urinlekkasje, vanligvis med hyppig vannlating (ofte 8-10 ganger i døgnet) og vannlatning om natta (nokturi).
I Norge angir omtrent 5-15 prosent av alle kvinner at de har urinlekkasje. Utenlandske studier viser at dette er en like vanlig tilstand også i andre land. Personer med urgeinkontinens utgjør 10-15 prosent av pasientene med lekkasjeplager. 35-50 prosent har en blanding av urge- og stressinkontinens. Stressinkontinens er den hyppigste lekkasjeformen, og kjennetegnes ved små urinlekkasjer ved for eksempel hosting, nysing og lignende.
