Hva er plager fra de ytre kjønnslepper?

  • Plager fra de ytre kjønnslepper kan stamme fra huden, fra kjønnsorganene, fra urinveiene eller tarmsystemet
  • Innenfor de ytre kjønnsleppene ligger urinrøret fortil for skjedeåpningen. Noen centimeter bakenfor kjønnsleppene er endetarmsåpningen. Huden i dette området er svært følsom, og relativt beskjedne forandringer kan medføre mye ubehag eller smerter. I tillegg kommer at dette området utsettes for mer vask og påkjenninger fra såper og lignende enn de fleste andre steder på kroppen
  • Hos kvinner som plages av ufrivillig urinlekkasje, vil behovet for vask og stell være ekstra stort. Ved eventuell lekkasje av avføring påføres huden en betydelig forurensing med bakterier
