Aplastisk anemi: Prognose

Ubehandlet vil man dø av aplastisk anemi. Komplikasjoner er livstruende infeksjoner, anemi, blødninger og utvikling av andre ondartede blodsykdommer. Tidlig transplantasjon hos unge pasienter gir helbredelse hos over 60-70 prosent. Immunhemmende behandling gir noe færre helbredelser.
