Aplastisk anemi: Diagnostikk

Diagnosen er sjelden, men den kan mistenkes ut fra symptomer på total beinmargssvikt. Legeundersøkelsen kan avdekke blekhet og anemi, blåflekker og blødninger i huden.

Blodutstryk

Blodprøver er viktige. Påvisning av nedsatt hemoglobin (blodprosent) er selvfølgelig en forutsetning for diagnosen. Ellers er mikroskopi av blodutstryk en særlig viktig undersøkelse ved mistanke om aplastisk anemi. Et blodutstryk lages ved å dryppe ut en dråpe blod på en glassplate. Legen vil kunne finne at cellene er normale, men celleantallet er redusert. Noen ganger er det isolert reduksjon av bestemte typer blodceller. På sykehuset vil beinmargsundersøkelse vise et redusert antall celler i beinmargen.
