Brucellose: Diagnosen
Sykehistorien vil kunne gi mistanke om tilstanden. Vanligvis er det lite unormalt å finne ved kroppsundersøkelsen. Halvparten har forstørrede lymfeknuter og forstørret milt. En forstørret lever er mindre vanlig. Leddbetennelse kan opptre. Sikker diagnose kan stilles på grunnlag av bakterieprøver og blodprøver. Bakterien vokser langsomt og man må ofte vente lenge på svar fra dyrkningsprøver. I land hvor sykdommen er vanlig brukes tester for raskere påvisning av sykdommen.
