  • De fleste tilfeller kan håndteres gjennom kostholdsråd og modifisering av hvordan barnet mates
  • Vær særlig oppmerksom på fruktjuice som kan gi dårlig vekst ved at det tilfører forholdsvis tomme kalorier og nedsetter barnets appetitt på næringsrik mat
  • Forelder må sørge for at stemningen ved måltidet er avslappet og hyggelig, og at måltidene er regelmessige
  • Ev. trapp opp matporsjonene over tid
  • Gi gjerne mer av matsorter barnet er glad i, men ikke godterier
  • Påse at barnet får jevnlig oppfølging med percentilmålinger på helsestasjonen
