Behandling av akutt nyresvikt

Behandlingen avhenger av årsaken og foregår i sykehus. Sentralt i behandlingen står væskebehandling. I noen tilfeller er det nødvendig med kunstig rensing av blodet, dialyse.

Nyrer og urinveier
I de tilfeller der det tar tid før nyrefunksjonen normaliserer seg, kan det bli nødvendig å bruke en kunstig nyre for å rense blodet ditt for overskuddsvann og opphopning av avfallsstoffer.

Behandling av akutt nyresvikt

Behandling av akutt nyresvikt avhenger delvis av årsaken og delvis av omfanget av svikten. Du vil som regel bli innlagt på en sykehusavdeling som har ekspertise på nyre- eller urinveissykdommer. Ved mindre alvorlige sykdomsbilder vil du bli henvist til spesialist i slike sykdommer.

Spesialistens første oppgave er å fastslå hva som er den nøyaktige årsaken til nyresvikten, siden det vil bestemme behandlingen. Dernest må omfanget av opphopning av avfallsstoffer og vann i kroppen din klargjøres, fordi det påvirker beslutninger om hvilke medisiner du skal ha og om det er behov for dialyse, det vil si rensing av blodet ditt gjennom en dialysemaskin.
