Hepatorenalt syndrom: Diagnostikk

Det finnes ingen enkelt test som kan påvise hepatorenalt syndrom. Diagnosen stilles når en person med leversvikt plutselig utvikler nyresvikt, og andre årsaker til nyresvikt kan utelukkes. Blodprøver og urinprøver er nødvendig. Ofte behøves undersøkelser med røntgen eller ultralyd. Noen ganger må det også tas vevsundersøkelse av nyrene.
