Sterilisering, mann: Anatomi og fysiologi

Mannlige kjønnsorgan

Sæden består av to hovedbestanddeler: sædcellene (spermiene) som produseres i testiklene og sædvæsken (semen) som produseres i to små kjertler, sædblærene - vesiculae seminales, som befinner seg på hver sin side av prostatakjertelen.

Sædcellene dannes i testiklene og lagres i bitestiklene som befinner seg rett bak testiklene. Fra bitestiklene føres sædcellene gjennom en kanal, sædlederen (vas deferens), ut av pungen, gjennom lyskekanalen, inn i bukhulen og frem til prostatakjertelen ved sædblærene. Der lagres sædcellene i en utvidet siste del av sædlederen, ampulla. I ampulla blandes sædcellene med sædvæsken. Ved sædutløsning, ejakulasjon, tømmer sædcellene seg fra ampulla via en kanal gjennom prostata, over i urinrøret og ut gjennom penis. Også prostatakjertelen bidrar til å lage deler av sædvæsken.
