  • Egenbehandling innebærer redusert bruk av kjeveleddet og tilhørende muskler:
    • Spis "bløt" mat og unngå mat som krever mye tygging
    • Unngå vide gjesp, synging, bruk av tyggegummi og andre aktiviteter som medfører kraftige kjevebevegelser
    • Massasje og lokal varme kan hjelpe
    • Du bør identifisere stresskilder og forsøke å endre livsstil for å eliminere slike faktorer
