Hva er magesår?

MagesårMagesår

Magesår er sår i slimhinnen i magesekken eller i tolvfingertarmen som vanligvis påvises ved gastoskopi. De aller fleste av disse sårene skyldes infeksjon med bakterien Helicobacter pylori. En firedel av sårene i magesekken skyldes imidlertid skader fra bruk av NSAIDs eller salicylater. Disse medikamentene virker "etsende" på slimhinnen og kan lage ett eller flere sår i magesekken.

Bruker du et NSAID og et antidepressivt middel av typen SSRI samtidig, øker risikoen for blødende magesår betydelig. Disse to midlene bør du derfor unngå å bruke samtidig.
