Hvis man overser at blæren din er overfylt, og man ikke får behandlet tidsnok, kan veggen i urinblæren overstrekkes. Dette kan føre til at du i fremtiden får problemer med å tømme blæren skikkelig. Urin kan bli stående i blæren, noe som øker sjansen for urinveisinfeksjoner.
