Enterovirusinfeksjoner: Behandling

De fleste enterovirusinfeksjoner er selvbegrensende og krever ingen spesifikk behandling. Ved alvorlig sykdom som fører til innleggelse i sykehus, kan det være nødvendig med såkalt intensivbehandling med pustemaskin (respirator), væskebehandling og noen ganger spesielle medikamenter.

Enkle hygieniske tiltak som håndvask og god hostehygiene er viktig for å forebygge spredning av enterovirus.
