Svette hender og føtter
Svette hender og føtter skyldes vanligvis ikke en sykdom. Problemet debuterer ofte i barndommen. Ofte er det en opphopning av problemet i enkelte familier. Det synes å være en arvelig komponent.

Håndflatene, fotsålene, ansiktet og armhulene har flere svettekjertler enn noen annen del av kroppen din. Noen mennesker svetter mye fra disse områdene, såkalt hyperhidrose. Problemet er vanlig og kan være svært plagsomt. Foruten å forstyrre normale daglige aktiviteter, kan det også medvirke til sosial angst eller forlegenhet.
De fleste mennesker svetter når de trener eller anstrenger seg, er i varme omgivelser, eller er nervøse, redde eller under stress. Den overdrevne svettingen ved hyperhidrose overgår imidlertid slik normal svetting. Kraftig svette kan gjøre klærne bløte av svette eller dryppe fra hendene.
Personer som svetter mye, er mer utsatte for å få hudinfeksjoner som ringorm og eksem foruten de psykososiale problemene det skaper.
