Neglebetennelse, akutt: Behandling

Innhold i artikkelen

Målet med behandlingen er å fjerne mikroorganismene og dermed helbrede betennelsen. I tillegg er det viktig å treffe tiltak for å unngå nye infeksjoner.

Valg av behandling avhenger av infeksjonens omfang. Ikke-kirurgisk behandling anvendes dersom det ikke foreligger pussansamling. Er det puss, må legen lage et lite snitt for å få tømt ut pusset og rengjort den lille sårhulen.

Selv rengjør du den betente fingeren med varmt vann tre til fire ganger om dagen inntil tilstanden er over. Eventuelt kan du bruke et desinfiserende middel som Hibiscrub eller Klorhexidin. I milde tilfeller kan du smøre på sårsalven Brulidin eller du kan bruke krystallfiolett 0,5 prosent i vandig løsning. Ved hissigere tilfeller må du ha tablettbehandling med penicillin.
