Seksuelle overgrep: Anmelde?

Den enkelte bør ta stilling til om hun/han vil anmelde forholdet. Anmeldelse er en markering av det uakseptable, og kan hindre at andre blir utsatt for tilsvarende. Anmeldelse er også en forutsetning for voldsoffererstatning. Men anmeldelsesprosessen kan være svært krevende, og den enkelte må vurdere hva hun/han orker og vil.

Alle bør imidlertid rådføre seg med bistandsadvokat. Den utsatte har rett til fri rettshjelp for å vurdere politianmeldelse. Både helsevesenet og advokaten har taushetsplikt, og vil ikke gå til politiet på egenhånd.
