For tidlig vannavgang: Risiko

I noen tilfeller kan for tidlig vannavgang føre til at navlesnoren kommer i klem, noe som kan stanse blodforsyningen til barnet. Det er også en risiko for at bakterier kan komme opp i livmoren og forårsake en infeksjon hos deg som mor og hos barnet. For tidlig vannavgang kan medføre for tidlig fødsel, noe som i sin tur øker risikoen for hjerneskader og pusteproblemer fordi lungene er umodne hos det nyfødte barnet.
