Mykoplasma lungebetennelse

Mykoplasmainfeksjon gir vanligvis en litt langtrukken luftveisinfeksjon i øvre og nedre luftveier med plagsom tørrhoste. Bare i knapt 10 prosent av tilfellene fører infeksjonen til lungebetennelse.

Bakterien Mycoplasma pneumoniae kan forårsake øvre og nedre luftveisinfeksjoner. De fleste sykdomsforløpene er milde med tørrhoste, lav feber, hodepine, sår hals og heshet. Lungebetennelse opptrer bare i knapt 10% av tilfellene.

Ved mykoplasmainfeksjon utvikler symptomene seg vanligvis langsomt over flere dager til en uke. De fleste vil utvikle tørrhoste som ofte er langvarig og verre om natten. Utslett og ørekomplikasjoner kan forekomme. Ofte er forløpet langtrukkent og strekker seg over 3-4 uker.
