Senteret arbeider med diagnose, behandlingsmetoder og psykososiale konsekvenser som følge av cystisk fibrose.

Senterets tilbud skal komme i tillegg til tilbudet i det eksisterende hjelpeapparatet på kommune- og fylkesnivå. Det betyr at mest mulig av nødvendige tiltak og behandling skal skje i det ordinære hjelpeapparatet, eventuelt med råd og veiledning eller annen bistand fra NSCF.
