Urinveisinfeksjon hos kvinner: Forløp

De aller fleste blir raskt friske med behandling. En ukomplisert blærekatarr har dessuten et godartet forløp også uten behandling. Med rikelig drikke, og ved å unngå å fryse, vil svært mange bli bra etter kort tid, selv uten medisiner.

I sjeldne tilfeller kan en nedre urinveisinfeksjon spre seg til øvre deler av urinveiene og medføre nyrebekkenbetennelse. Dette fører til forverring av plagene, og oftest feber og rygg- eller magesmerter. I slike situasjoner bør du kontakte lege.
