Eosinofil fasciitt

Eosinofil fasciitt er en sjelden bindevevssykdom som skyldes betennelser i bindevevshinner i underhuden og noen ganger i muskelhinnene. Symptomer er hevelser med rødme, smerter og redusert bevegelse.

Eosinofil fasciitt ses i noen tilfeller i sammenheng med stor fysisk belastning, infeksjon med borrellia, strålebehandling og enkelte blodsykdommer, men årsaken er ukjent.

Hva er eosinofil fasciitt?

Eosinofil fasciitt, også kalt Schulman's syndrom, er en bindevevssykdom som skyldes betennelse i bindevevshinner i underhuden og noen ganger i muskelhinnene. Sykdommen er sjelden og oppstår vanligvis i 40 til 50 års alder, oftere hos menn enn hos kvinner. Årsaken er ukjent. Det er i noen tilfeller sett sammenheng med blant annet uvanlig fysisk belastning, infeksjon med Borrelia (infeksjon overført fra flått), strålebehandling og enkelte blodsykdommer.
