Prostatitt, akutt: Prognose

De fleste blir raskt bra med antibiotikabehandling, og prognosen er god. Det kan i sjeldne tilfeller oppstå komplikasjoner i form av blodforgiftning. Vedvarende prostatitt kan en sjelden gang føre til tilbakevendende urinveisinfeksjoner og sterilitet.
