Katekolaminer eller VMA, urinprøve: Hvordan samles urinen

  • Urinen samles i en plastbeholder som leveres av laboratoriet. Denne er tilsatt konsentrert saltsyre for konservering av urinen
  • Voksne samler urin i 24 timer:
    • Første dagen du samler, later du vannet kl. 08.00. Denne urinen skal ikke samles i beholderen.
    • Resten av dagen og kvelden, og fram til og med kl. 08.00 neste morgen, samles all urin i beholderen
    • Beholderen inneholder etsende syre. Det anbefales derfor å late vannet på en ren beholder, og deretter straks tømme denne over på samlebeholderen
    • Etter at samlingen er ferdig, blandes urinen godt
    • Den totale urinmengden måles (bruk litermål), og mengden noteres på rekvisisjonen eller på et eget ark
    • Ta en prøve på forsendelsesbeholder, ca. 20 ml av den blandede urinen er tilstrekkelig
    • Prøven leveres sammen med rekvisisjon hos din lege eller på laboratoriet direkte
  • Barn
    • Hos barn tas prøven fra første morgenurin, samling er ikke nødvendig
