Ebolainfeksjon: Symptomer

Typiske symptomer er plutselig feber, slapphet og muskelsmerter. Etter hvert også hodepine og sår hals. Dette følges av oppkast, diarè, utslett, og sviktende lever og nyrefunksjon. Senere kan det oppstå både indre og ytre blødninger: fra magetarmkanalen, lungene, underlivet, nesen, slimhinnene i munnen og i huden. Blødningene kan føre til sviktende blodsirkulasjon og død.
