Ikke la barnet ditt få lov til å mobbe andre. Sett klare regler og sørg for at barnet følger dem. Belønn god atferd. Vær trygg på at du vet hva barna dine gjør og hvor de er. Vit hva de ser på TV, hvilke filmer de ser og hvilke videospill eller PC-spill de spiller.

Tenk på det eksemplet du setter som en forelder. Kontroller temperamentet ditt og grip ikke til fysiske avstraffelser eller grovt språk. Se etter varselstegn i ditt barns atferd slik som sinneutbrudd, slåssing, erting av andre, slemhet mot dyr, påtenning av ting eller bruk av alkohol eller andre stoffer. Merker du noen av disse tegnene, bør du ta kontakt med skolerådgiveren, helsesøster eller fastlegen.
